CANCER: YOUR BODY’S ADAPTIVE STRATEGY PART 1

Cancer is one of the most dreaded, if not the most dreaded, diseases in the world today. It strikes fear into the heart and soul even of the bravest men in the world today. The moment your doctor sits before you with your lab reports and his opening statement starts with, “I am so sorry, you have got cancer,” everything about your life takes a different turn. In this series, you will learn the following:

1. What is cancer?

2. What is the real cause of cancer? (cancer, as an adaptive strategy of your body)

3. How can you reverse cancer?

4. How do you create a cancer-proof body?

This article will lay the foundation on which we will build later. Let’s start with the first question: “What is cancer?” Before I answer the question, let me first set the stage. Your body is made of more than 72 trillion cells; similar cells make up tissues, and similar tissues make up organs; similar organs make up the system; and the different systems make up your body. There are 200 different cell types in your body; the cells of the brain are different from the cells of the heart. Every cell of your body has its own life span, and when it lives out it’s life span, that cell dies by committing suicide. The cell death by suicide is called Apoptosis. Different cells have different life spans; the cells of the skin have a life span of 28 days; the red blood cells have a life span of 120 days; the cells of the small intestines have a life of 3–4 days.

And as these cells die; they are being replaced by new cells. We produce about 300 billion new cells every day to replace the dead ones. Our entire body is replaced every 7 to 10 years. So, here is where it becomes very tricky. What exactly triggers the old cells to commit suicide? What happens if these cells die before their lifespan? What happens if the cells refuse to die because the system trigger is defective? Let me start by answering the second question above. If the cells die before their life span, which means that they are not being replaced in time, it will create an imbalance in the body.

Remember, the main function of the body is to maintain balance (homeostasis). The disease starts when there’s an imbalance, i.e., when the cells die before their time. On the other hand, when these cells refuse to die after their life span, rather they continue to divide and multiply, that’s a big problem. As I said previously, there is a strict command and control over programmed cell death (apoptosis) and cell replacement. Cancer is a name designed by the medical system to define a cell or group of cells that refuse to die but rather continually replicate (divide to form new cells).

Ladies and gentlemen; The better definition of cancer is “Chronically Replicating Cells”. These are groups of cells that chronically continue to replicate on their own without any control from the body. These cells have successfully bypassed your body’s control mechanism. Remember, there are two hundred different cell types, Therefore, there are two hundred different types of cancer or chronically replicating cells. The next big question will be;

  1. What can make these cells bypass the body’s command and control mechanism?
  2. How is cancer your body’s adaptive strategy?
